Lerøy has put forth an concrete plan to action with a clear goal to increase the use of trimmings in the feed. This goal is shared with our feed producers. To achieve this goal Lerøy has created an digital reporting tool that measure and gives feedback on trimming levels every month.
Trimmings is a limitied comodity, and to make sure that we will have enough raw material, Lerøy has initiated a project with both feed producers and sub-suppliers to close our value chain. From both Lerøy's trawling activity and white fish factories, we produce an substantiial amount of trimmings that get sold to the open market. We will make sure that through mass balance principples, Lerøy is allocated all by-products from white fish, back into the feed for our salmon and trout targeted by end of year 2025
